Welcome to SkyShark Studios — and a first look

The studio is officially open. Here's who we are, what we're making, and the first screenshots from a true-scale space strategy game in development.

SkyShark Studios is officially open. This is where you'll find our games, buy them directly from us, and follow along while we build them.

We're an independent studio. No publisher and no investors, which means two things: we make the games we actually want to play, and when you buy from this site almost every dollar goes straight into the next one.

What we're working on

We have several projects in the works. Today we're pulling back the curtain on one of them: a true-scale space strategy game.

"True scale" is the whole idea. Distances between stars are real. Planets are the size planets actually are. Every ship has a length in meters, and it's drawn to that size next to everything else. When a fleet crosses a system, it's crossing real space.

On top of that sits a full 4X empire game:

  • Nine playable peoples, each starting on its own homeworld in its own home system.
  • A living economy. Civilian miners, haulers and private firms run around what your empire makes possible. You set the conditions; they fill the space lanes.
  • Planetside play. Colonies are real globes with building regions. Zoom in to build, defend, and land ground assaults.
  • A galaxy with history, from the Wardens who bound the stars into lanes to the raiders who fled the Draco Veil.

The fleet

Every ship is a hand-built 3D model, and there's a hangar in the game where you can inspect each one from any angle. There are over 160 models so far, from fighters to capital ships to stations.

What's next

We'll post here as things come together: progress updates, behind-the-scenes deep dives, and launch news. The game doesn't have a release date yet, and it's still changing fast — everything you see here is work in progress.
